Aims of the Foundation

The Foundation’s objective is to promote fundamental cultural values along three interrelated and mutually enriching lines, technological, anthropological and sociological, which form the basis of the real world in which any modern company operates, and most especially one dedicated to public service.

The technological aspect is generally dealt with by the company itself, for which reason the Foundation concentrates rather on the anthropological aspect through the promotion of training and consciousness-raising so that our personnel are motivated and self-aware in their efforts to fulfil the company’s objectives.

It focuses on the sociological aspect through creating and maintaining links with the external social and cultural organisations that form the basic fabric of civil society, with the aim of making a positive contribution to that society.

Within this framework, the Foundation can carry out whatever activities it sees fit to fulfil its objectives.

The Foundation’s main areas of action are as follows:

Cultural activities

To support and promote culture at all levels and in all forms, using all suitable means, paying particular attention to the history, present and future of the modern energy sector in general, and to the origins and development of the piped gas industry in particular.

  Social and sociological activities

To carry out studies and in-depth analyses into the structure of the company and into how to ensure that its people are fully integrated and personally fulfilled. To study and disseminate methods for establishing mutual interests and achieving greater closeness and harmonious relations between the company and civil society.

  Environmental activities

To carry out activities in areas where the Gas Natural Fenosa operates aimed at protecting the environment by providing information and training and generally raising awareness in society about respecting and caring for our surroundings. To work closely with public administrations and public and private bodies to promote these aims.

Scientific and technological activities

To organise courses and theoretical and practical study sessions and symposiums; setting up and/or subsidising training centres; providing aid, grants, employment exchanges and other support to students and graduates, linking all these activities so that they maintain a connection with the energy sector and particularly the gas sector. Using the most suitable media to promote the publication and dissemination of written and audiovisual materials pertinent to the sector.

Education and training activities

To organise courses and theoretical and practical study sessions or symposiums; setting up or subsidising training centres; providing aid, grants, employment exchanges and other support to students and graduates, linking all these activities so that they maintain a connection with the energy sector, and specifically the gas sector. To promote, using the most suitable media, the publication and dissemination of written and audiovisual materials pertinent to the sector.

Other activities
Any permitted initiatives and activities falling within the framework of the Foundation’s objectives which are not listed in the sections above, and which serve the general interest and not that of any particular individual.
