The Government of Murcia and the Gas Natural Foundation signed on 16 June 2005 a Co-operation Agreement in order to develop joint actions to encourage, promote and develop environmental education, information, training and awareness raising. The agreement was signed by the Region of Murcia's Minister for Industry and the Environment, Francisco Marqués, and by the director general of the Gas Natural Foundation, Pedro-A. Fábregas.

The two entities made a commitment to develop activities to increase knowledge about the environment, environmental protection and the efficient use of resources.
